French Country Decorated Frame

Hi peeps,
I hope everyone had a fabulous Christmas and would like to wish you all a very happy New Year.
Finally I can share with you a few of the projects that have taken up my time lately. Every year me and my besties make Christmas gifts for each other and this year I decided to make photo frames. For the first frame I used some gorgeous papers from the beautiful Graphic 45 collection 'French Country'.
I started by painting the frame then adding shabby white frantage to distress it. Then using the yummy DP's I created a picture which I decoupaged and faux stitched. I then created the flowers using some pre-made mulberry paper flowers and added some die cut flowers and leaves of my own using matching papers.
Well I hope you like it, I'll be back soon with my next project.

Basic Grey Challenge 'Happy Christmas'

Good morning peeps,
Well it's time for another fab challenge over at Basic Grey Challenges - and it is another super easy theme. This time we want to see your Christmas designs, but remember to include a product from Basic Grey.
As many of you know I find CAS cards really difficult but I thought I'd give it another go:

I love this cutie Tilda she looks really warm and cosy all wrapped up. The gorgeous pre distressed green DP is from the Oliver collection from BG and I love it as it perfectly matches my fave Promarker 'Pear Green'.
The lovely sentiment is from Stampendous. Still not sure about the CAS design but I'm sure I'll give it another go soon.

Frosty Christmas Candy Cane

Hi peeps,
Sorry bit late posting this but been pretty down in the dumps as we sadly had to have our beautiful Old English Sheepdog 'Harry' put to sleep. He was a gorgeous gentle giant and will be missed so much.
Well fortunately I did manage to finish my first Christmas gift bag and I used the most adoreable 'Candy Cane' from Saturated Canary. The challenge for the next fortnight over at Basic Grey is 'Cold and Frosty' so I combined DP's from Baisc Grey Wisteria and First Editions Silent Night pad.
The beautiful snowflake border is from Joy Crafts and I smothered them with Stardust Stickles so it is super sparkly. The layout was a fab sketch from Saturated Canary and was such a joy to use.

I coloured this cutie using my trusty Pro's then I distressed everything to within an inch of it's life with Pumice Stone DI, Shabby Blue Frantage and a whole lot more Stickles. I just couldn't resist using the stunning new pearl snowflake swirls from Creative Expressions so I went a bit bananas.

close up to show the beautiful ''Candy Cane'.
Well I hope you you like it and I 'll be back soon when I have had a few days to get my head together.
I am entering this project into the following challenges:

Vintage Shoe

Evening all,
Well here is my second post that did not appear!! We had some fabulous entries over at Basic Grey Challenges and hopefully will get even more for this fortnights challenge. A super easy one this time 'Anything Goes' but please remember that whatever you make you must use something from Basic Grey and please let us know what it is you've used.

Well I went completely away from cards altogether and used a the fabulous vintage shoe template from House of Zandra. I created the shoe using gorgeous papers from the Capella collection and the base is covered with paper from the Archaic collection.
Well hopefully things will get back to normal with Blogger asap.

Happy Crafting and thanks for looking.

Carnation

Evening peeps,
So sorry this is late but I have been at a show this weekend and this and my next post were both scheduled which obviously didn't happen!!
I was greatly honoured to be asked by the lovely Patty to create a card as a guest designer for her fab challenge blog ABC Challeges. The challenge was to use markers. Unfortunately this challenge has now finished but they have another super challenge on at the moment to remember those lost in the 9/11 attack 'create a Sympathy card' so please pop over and show them your support.

Ok onto the card I created. Very clean and simple design for me but I am quite pleased with the results. I love this beautiful stamp from Stampendous and greatly enjoyed colouring it with my Promarkers. The base card was made using SB Grand Decorative Labels 1. I also used SB Floral Ovals, SB Fancy Tags 2 and the butterfly is from Joy Crafts.

close up to show the lovely Shabby Blue Frantage
Well thanks so much for stopping by.

Back To School with Basic Grey!

Morning folks,
Well it's a quick post from me today as super busy getting ready for my final workshop of the week. Phew it has been a busy but enjoyable week with lots of lovely ladies coming along to create a shaped card and box which I promise I will post a pic of very soon.
But for now it is time for another challenges over at Basic Grey Challenges and this time the theme is 'Back To School' and remember whatever you make you must include a product from Basic Grey.
I used a fab sketch from Mojo Monday which gave me loads of scope for showing off lots of designs from the stunning Oxford paper pad from BG. I couldn't resist teaming these with the equally gorgeous Mo Manning stamp 'Oxford' (don't you just love it when a plan comes together!)
The yummy clock die is from Marianne D and the sentiment is LOTV. I coloured the lovely Oxford with my trusty Pro's and then distressed everything with Pumice Stone DI.

I am entering Oxford into the following challenges:
ABC - ABC41 'Lot's of Layers'
Mojo Monday - #307 'Sketch by Julee'

Ok well that's all from me for now but hopefully I'll be back a little sooner than last time!

Basic Grey - Weather

Morning folks,
Well the sky is looking a little threatening here in our little corner of the UK today and Mr. Sunshine does not look like he's gonna make an appearance anytime soon sadly!
Anyway on a happier note it is time for another fab challenge over at Basic Grey Challenges and this time the theme is 'Weather' so sunshine, snowflakes or rain it's up to you but remember you MUST use a Basic Grey product somewhere on your project.

I chose a very neglected Gorjuss stamp of mine and really enjoyed colouring her. I created the large umbrella by piecing together lots of patterned DP's from Basic Grey's Lemonade and Piccadilly collections. The clouds are from Memory Box and the sentiments are from Hero Arts.
Well I can't wait to see your take on the weather theme and thanks for popping by!

I decide to use this beautiful Tilda with Butterfly and coloured her with my Distress Markers. The gorgeous paper is from the Piccadilly collection from BG. Basic Grey DT Using Flowers

Morning folks,
Wow what a manic few weeks. I think the sunshine has brought all the tourists to Horncastle as the shop has been super busy as have the classes. A huge HI!! to all my lovely ladies that come and craft with me and make my job so enjoyable, thank you x.
Now today it is time once again for a fabulous challenge over at Basic Grey and this time we want to see Flowers on your project. Easy I know as so many of us love our flowers. However, don't forget you must also include a product from Basic Grey to enter and to be in with a chance to win a super voucher from Simon Says.
Ok here is my little contribution for the DT:

I chose to use the super cute 'Thank You' from Saturated Canary, one of my all time faves from Krista's beautiful designs. I coloured her with my pro's and added lots of yummy shabby white frantage. I hadn't made a napkin fold card for ages but it does really show off the stunning BG papers all from the Capella collection. Pretty much everything has been faux stitched, distressed with Walnut Stain DI and then I've added copious amounts of Platinum Stickles to the edges.

Inside pic of card showing the napkin fold:

Pic of card fully opened showing decorated inside, where I have used the gorgeous Lilliana:

Ok well I hope you like her and I look forward to seeing your entries over at Basic Grey Challenges.

I am entering this into the following challenges:

Basic Grey Challenge DT 'No Stamped Images'

Hi peeps,
Rant, rant, moan, moan I cant believe Blogger let me down!! This post should have been shared yesterday but obviously Blogger had other ideas.
Anyway nuff said! This fortnight over at Basic Grey challenges we want to see your creations with NO Stamped Images so get out the dies, papers and embellies!

I used my Bind It All to create this 8x8 board backed book, covered it with papers from the BG Archaic collection which I had had for ages. I just love the chipboard dinosaurs that were part of the range so had to use this smiley character. The beautiful leather strap buckle was from Zutter and I used a a flourish stamp and black Versafine to jazz it up.

Another little cutie can be found hiding inside on the first page!!
Well I hope you like it and I look forward to seeing what you create.

Beauty and the Beast

Good morning lovelies,
Sorry I have been MIA for the last fortnight but a friend of mine has been battling with cancer since last year and on Monday she lost her battle and it left me pretty numb this week. Angela was a larger than life character with a heart of gold and she will be sorely missed by many, many people.
Well I did eventually manage to get my act together and found some peace in my own little crafty world. I really enjoyed using this House of Zandra Mantle Clock template and once constructed it made me think of 'Cogsworth' the clock from Beauty and the Beast!

This fortnights challenge over at Basic Grey Challenges is 'Use a Doily' but please remember you still need to use a product from Basic Grey. I used the beautiful DP's from Kissing Booth as they had a lovely romantic feel.

The gorgeous 'Lovely' from Saturated Canary also really reminds me of Belle from Beauty and the Beast holding the glittery rose before it dies and Beast is trapped forever as a monster!! (sorry love that story). I coloured her with my trusty Pro's and added Star Dust Stickles to the rose head.
The stunning clock face die is from Marianne D, the cogs are from a Spellbinders set and all of the rest of the scrummy dies are from Joy Crafts.
I have faux stitched around the entire clock then distressed with Frayed Burlap DI then added loads of flowers and pearls from my stash.

I must confess this was the second box of Ferrero Rocher I had to buy for these pics as I accidentally ate the first box in a rather large moment of emotional weakness. Anyway just so you know the box very nicely holds 10 choccies (yippee as you actually get 16 in a retail box lol).

I am entering this into the following challenges:
Saturated Canary - #45 'Show Us Your Lovely'
Passion for Promarkers - #202 'Inspired by a Fairy-tale'
A Creative Romance - #1 'Anything Goes'
Deep Ocean - #53 'For a Girl'
Inky Chicks - #6 'Love'
Oldie but a Goodie - 'Stitching' (real or faux)
ABC - 'P is for Pretty in Pink'

Well hopefully I should be back a little sooner to share some more creations but for now that's all from me.

Good morning peeps!
Wow I can't believe where this last week has gone it has just been such a roller coaster and I really need my Sunday off!
Anyway it is time for another fantastic challenge over at Basic Grey Challenge and this time we want to see some 'Fun in the Sun' so think sunshine, ice cream and strawberries and get creating.
Sorry but I couldn't help using another gorgeous gal from Saturated Canary and this cutie is called 'Summer' so she seemed perfect.

I loved colouring this image with my Pros and had great fun teaming her with some yummy papers from the Picadilly collection by Basic Grey. The fab sketch comes from the wonderful Sketchy Girls and I decided to flip the sketch so I worked with the mirror image. I distressed everything with Pumice Stone DI and then added copious amounts of Shabby White Frantage (whatever did I do before this stuff was invented?)

Well that's all from me today. I hope you like her and I'll see you soon.

Life Is A Circus!!!!

Evening peeps,
Wow what a beautiful weekend, I cannot believe the gorgeous weather we have had for the last 2 bank holiday weekends it is unheard of. Anyway, didn't get out in the sunshine much yesterday as I had a stand at the Lincoln Sincerely Yours Papercraft Show and I have to say I had a wonderful time catching up with loads of lovely crafters both from in and around Lincolnshire and also loads of Blog buddies so a big HI to all of you lovelies.
Ok, so now time to share my latest SC creation with you. I just adore this fab design from Krista and as soon as it arrived I just new I had to get colouring.

The challenge over at Saturated Canary seemed just perfect 'Hair That Is Different' so I went a little mad with Trixie's locks. I coloured using my trusty Pro's and once again played with my scrumptious Frantage.

Close Up

All other stamped images are from Stampendous and just seemed to work really well with Circus Trixie. I didn't want to use my normal spray of flowers, so I made a supersized ribbon flower. I created the little frame by coating a metal frame charm with Shabby White Frantage then stamped the Cheeky Lil Pierot and cut it to fit the frame then I covered it with Micro Beads.

Cheeky Little Pierot

Well I hope you like her and I'll be back soon to share more creations.

I am entering this into the following challenges:
Saturated Canary - #44 'Hair That Is Different'

Inspired by a Song

Hello peeps,
Wow can't believe another fortnight has passed and it's time once again for a Basic Grey Challenge. This fortnight the theme is 'Inspired by a Song' so once again a very open theme.
I have chosen to use the gorgeous 'Autumn' from Saturated Canary and my song choice is 'Autumn Leaves' sung by many artists including Frank Sinatra and Nat King Cole to name a few.

The stunning DP's are from the Pyrus collection by Basic Grey and boy have I gone to town with the Frantage!! First I coloured my yummy image in with Promarkers and then used Shabby White around the image and sentiment (just love this look) and the doily die cut I covered with Aged Taupe and a little sprinkling of Shabby White.

As I fell in love with the Passion for Promarkers challenge theme 'Doodleicious' I wanted to play along so I added faux stitching lines around all edges using my fine nib on my Olive Green Promarker. I did like how subtle it looks on patterned DP's.
Finally here is a little close up of 'Autumn' and that wonderful Frantage.

I am entering this into the following challenges:
The Sketchy Challenge - #47 'Sandy's Sketch'
Passion for Promarkers - #198 'Doodleicious'
Fussy and Fancy - #89 'Pearls and Lace'
Cupcake Crafts - #242 'Lots of Layers'

This morning it's time for another fabulous challenge over at Basic Grey Challenges. This time we want to see you 'Mix and Match' your Basic Grey products. It is amazing how well so many of the different collections work together so have a play.
I decided to go for a vintage but slightly quirky masculine theme. I combined DP's from the Oliver and Marjolaine collections.

The fab moustaches were cut using a Memory Box die and they were mounted onto a section of the Happy Definition from Hero Arts. The clock is from Marianne D and the cogs are from a Spellbinders set. I am totally in love with this new vintage Washi Tape from Crafts Too and am already working my way through most of the designs and it only arrived in the shop last week!!.

Well I hope you like it and remember to pop over to Basic Grey Challenges and give us an entry!

Fairy Tilda Gift Box

Good evening all,
Wow I finally managed to grab a few hours to create something just for me. Whilst hopping around blogland I stumbled across MDUC's 'Button It' challenge and it got me thinking. So I decided to create a gift box just for me to look pretty in 'MY' craft room and to store my precious buttons in.
So here it is:

I used the beautiful Prima DP's from the Fairy Flora collection and also the box is covered with Capella DP's from Basic Grey. The super cute Fairy Tilda is coloured with Distress Markers and everything has been edged with Pumice Stone DI and Platinum Stickles.

Close Up of Box Front:

I made the large pink flower by layering 10 different die cut paper flowers and then spritzed with Glimmer Mist and crumpled each layer.

Woohoo!! First DT Card for Basic Grey Challenges

Morning peeps,
Well how exciting is that, the lovely girlies over at Basic Grey Challenges have asked me to join the super team on a permanent basis!!
So here is my first creation as a full-time Basic Grey Teamie:

The challenge this time is super easy you need to create something with a masculine theme but remember you do need to include something from the vast Basic Grey range.
I have used the gorgeous Hiking Edwin and his love Campfire Background and coloured with my Pro's. The fab walking boot M-Bossibilities just seemed perfect for this card so I used Brownie Coordinations card and sanded it.
The cute rosette is from the Tim Holtz Sizzix die and I used a DP from the Basic Grey Granola range.
Well I hope you like it and don't forget to pop over and enter a card here.

Basic Grey CAS Challenge!!

Hi folks,
As many of you know I don't normally do clean and simple. However when the lovely Cathy asked me to join the Basic Grey Challenge team again as their Guest Designer I just couldn't say no. Then she let slip that the theme was CAS ahhhh!! totally scary.
Anyway I did not run, I decided to face my fears and pulled on my big girl pants and got stuck in. I had just received some gorgeous new stamps in the shop from Stampendous and I just fell in love with this fab toad in her tutu and had to get her inked up.

Okay so first I printed my sentiment onto the kraft card then stamped my toad and coloured her with my Prisma's. I then faux stitched all round the edges and matted onto some gorgeous DP's from the Basic Grey 'Hopscotch' collection. I added some simple bunting made from the same DP's and voila my interpretation of a CAS design.

A little close up of the fabulous dancing toad!
Well I hope you like my little creation and thanks once again to the super talented Basic Grey Challenge team for having me I have loved working with you all.
And don't forget to hop over and leave them an entry for the CAS challenge!

Thanks for hopping by (sorry couldn't resist lol!!)

See you soon

Easter Time at Basic Grey

Good afternoon peeps,
Hope you are all well and not buried too deeply in snow!!
We had a light dusting here in Horncastle last night but it was all pretty slushy by the morning so not too bad just really chilly.
Anyway I have a card to share with you today that I have made for the Basic Grey Challenge as the lovely Cathy has asked me to join them for another couple of challenges as their Guest Designer. Thanks so much Cathy I have loved being a part of your fab team, and of course Basic Grey is a must have in my stash anyway.
The theme for this challenge is Easter so a nice easy one.

The beautiful image is from Sugar Nellie and is coloured with my Promarkers. The gorgeous spring DP's are from the Basic Grey collection 'Kissing Booth'. I created the shaped card using Grand Nesties Labels 23 and the flowers and ribbon came from my stash.

Keep warm on this wintery weekend and I be back soon

GDT Creation for Basic Grey Challenges

Good Evening peeps,
Sorry so late with this post but Blogger decided it no longer liked my pictures so have had to find devious routes to get my pics on my posting.
Anyway, I have another creation to share with you that I made for my last Basic Grey Challenges GDT spot. The challenge this fortnight is again super easy 'Spring Is In The Air' so think floral, fresh etc but please remember you need to include at least one item from Basic Grey.

I used the gorgeous papers from the Picadilly collection and covered this fabulous ribbon box. Everything is distressed with Frayed Burlap DI then I added some beautiful die cuts from Memory Box and a super cute Tilda.
Anyway I hope you pop over to Basic grey Challenges, they are a fab team and you'll find loads of inspiration over there.
Thanks to the whole team for having me as your GD I have loved working with you.

Guest Design Spot for Basic Grey with Tilda on her Scooter

Morning folks,
Back once again after another bout of hospital visits as hubby went through op number 4 last week, but hopefully that was the last one.
So I am here today to share with you my GDT creation for the fabulous challenge over at Basic Grey Challenges
I am thrilled to join such a talented group for a couple of challenges as their Guest Designer and the challenge this time is super easy 'Anything Goes' but remember you must use at least one item from the huge Basic Grey range.

I decided to use the gorgeous paper from the Plumeria collection and as I hadn't made a shaker card for ages that's where my creation started. I love this Tilda on her scooter with her bunches poking out from under her helmet she looks adoreable. All coloured with my trusty Promarkers. The shaker bubble is actually the packaging from a roll of tape so good for recycling too.

I punched out loads of leaves from coordinating sheets of Bazzill and added them to my shaker. The beautiful flower die is from Memory Box and is called Honey Blossom Sprig (a firm favourite of mine!) I then added lots of pearls and ribbon and the project was finished

Sorry so many pics but I find shaker cards a little tricky to photograph. Well so hope you like it and make sure you go and check out the other beautiful projects from the Basic Grey Team

Dreaming of Edwin!!

Evening folks,
Well time to share with you another Tilda project. This card has been a bit of a marathon for me and has been designed and redesigned at least 20 times in the last few days. With all the elements I wanted to include I knew it had to be a big card so it is a 8.5" square which is softened by the MS Punch Around The Page.

I used the gorgeous Dp's from Basic Greys 'Plumeria' collection and faux stitched round all the edges then distressed them with Pumice Stone DI. I coloured the beautiful Tilda with my Distress Markers, then added some stunning lace and flowers from my stash. I added white paint to the edges for a bit of a shabby chic feel.

The whole card was centered around wanting to use this gorgeous metal plaque. I first distressed it a little with white paint. Then I stamped the super cute mini Groom Edwin and coloured him with my Promarkers then coated him with 2 coats of Glossy Accents to give an enamel feel.
Everything was then finished with the beautiful Doo Hickey butterflies and some Memory Box flourishes.

I am entering this into the following fab challenges:
 MDUC - #181 'Wings'
Totally Tilda - #64 'Photo Inspiration'
Inky Chicks - #2 'Becky's Bingo Grid' (HOUSE!!!)
ABC - 'F for Favourite Tilda'
Basic Grey Challenges - #86 'Love Is In The Air'
Ribbon Girls Magnolia Only - #1 'Use Ribbons or Lace'
Lovely Hanglar or Sweet Magnolia - #61 'Ribbon or Lace'

That's all from me today
Happy Crafting
Big Hugs
